Americans no longer enjoy fair prices at the pump because of greedy Wall Street speculators and price fixing within the oil industry. It’s time that Congress step-in, if they can throw-off the influence of K-Street lobbyists.

In the article posted by MSNBC which is quoted above, speculators were cited as one of the reasons for the price increases. The American public is tired of being gouged; in this economy, every penny counts, and gas is a commodity that each and every American that own a car has to buy, so naturally, it is a target for greedy Wall Street speculators who have already been responsible for a lot of our economic woes. It’s time to restore confidence in our government, and halting the price gouging for gasoline, spear-headed by the government would do a lot to help restore confidence in our own government.

Now that the “Stimulus” has been passed by the Senate, and we know what is contained in the package, it is obvious that the next round of this financial meltdown is guaranteed to cause the financial community to request more taxpayer money to “bailout” themselves from the billions in credit card and auto loan defaults that are already beginning to occur; for those of you that have the means, it’s now time to prepare your families to withstand another “great Depression” – and I believe that it’s right around the corner, as nothing in the stimulus package was enacted to stop the next round of huge losses in the financial sector.

Research indicates that from 1979 through 2007 some 20.3 million manufacturing jobs have been lost in the US. Some of this loss can be attributed to normal fallout as a result of typical business cycles, but research indicates that 38 percent or 7.6 million – which I suspect is a conservative estimate – of those 20.3 million jobs were lost as a consequence of outsourcing and off-shoring.
