One of the most popular articles I have ever written was on May 14th, 2005, entitled:
Wal-Mart & China Benefit – America Loses
It was posted on my own site, WakeupWalmart.com and the Blue Lemur Political Forum, which is owned and hosted by RAW Story. I don’t have the readership of some of the better known Bloggers – and while the article received a lot of exposure, unfortunately the basic message of the story didn’t reach enough people and now, the situation is far worse than even I had imagined at the time of writing the original story.
It is never wise to write in anger, but the news the past few days has brought me to the point of outrage, disbelief, and utter shock at what the ramifications of Wal-Mart aiding the Chinese has done to our economy – but even more important than that, is the damage to our national security and survival as a nation. The statement may seem melodramatic, but as you read further and begin to comprehend the enormous harm that Wal-Mart and companies attempting to compete with them have caused to our country – the enormity of the situation may actually be understated, and now we are feeling the results of corporate greed and a government that is struggling to accomplish its day to day business. The Congress cannot seem to conduct anything of substance without being hopelessly dead-locked by partisan bickering; Bush, the supposed “Uniter,” has divided the country to the point where nothing of gist is accomplished in Congress – and if anything meaningful is passed into law, unless it aids the war profiteers and Bush’s corporate backers, it is simply dismissed behind the scenes via “signing statements. The “Decider” has effectively rendered Congress ineffective for anything except the mundane – and the country appears to be sliding into anarchy.
North Korea without a doubt or question is destabilizing the entire Eastern Hemisphere with their nuclear brinksmanship and their latest long-range missile tests. The tests were condemned almost universally in the United Nations, however, as Japan and the United States attempted to seek strong UN sanctions against North Korea, two of our “supposed” allies, Russia and China, threatened to veto sanctions, once again rendering the United States impotent to deal with a serious threat to world peace and security. Russia has since agreed (maybe) to abstain from the vote – but what The President gave away to Russia for their agreement to abstain is absurd by any standards, transferring American nuclear technology to Russia in a deal that will only benefit the “New Russia,” which has been backsliding to their old ways of authoritarian rule. But that’s another story!
China, on the other hand, is blatantly refusing to allow any sanctions against North Korea, and the United States has nothing but words – hollow at best, to try and get them to stop North Korea from furthering their nuclear ambitions:
China rejects UN resolution on NKorea
by Cindy SuiTue Jul 11, 6:26 AM ET
China has rejected a proposed UN resolution on possible sanctions against North Korea, dashing US and Japanese hopes for quick action over Pyongyang’s missile tests.
A foreign ministry announcement that the draft Security Council resolution was an “overreaction” came amid another flurry of shuttle diplomacy to address the crisis in the wake of last Wednesday’s missile launches.
Separate talks between North and South Korea, and China and the United States, were held a day after a vote on the resolution was postponed by the Council — where China holds the veto power to block it.
“China is gravely concerned about the current situation and we have expressed our position to the North Korean side,” she said.
North Korea in response said that sanctions would be an “act of war.” LINK
It’s remarkable that in five short years we went from having a surplus under the Clinton administration to a deficit, mainly held by the Chinese – and our government is dependent on China for the bulk of our national debt. If China cut us off, the United States would be in a depression almost immediately, the stock market would collapse, and somehow, all of our basic necessities would have to be manufactured back in the United States – and it would take time and a lot of misery to get back on our feet. In short, China has a strangle-hold on the US economy, and they know it, so what leverage do we actually have against China? The answer is obvious – NONE!
And it gets worse! China has been building-up their military at a remarkable pace, and now they are beginning to exercise some of that muscle. Taiwan is feeling the heat with a huge amount of missiles poised at them across the Taiwan Straits – and now it appears that China has made the first aggressive move against the United States:
Hackers target State Dept. computers
Widespread break-ins appear aimed at HQ, East Asian office
WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department is recovering from large-scale computer break-ins worldwide over the past several weeks that appeared to target its headquarters and offices dealing with China and North Korea, The Associated Press has learned.
Investigators believe hackers stole sensitive U.S. information and passwords and implanted backdoors in unclassified government computers to allow them to return at will, said U.S. officials familiar with the hacking.
Tracing the origin of such break-ins is difficult. But employees told AP the hackers appeared to hit computers especially hard at headquarters and inside the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, which coordinates diplomacy in countries including China, the Koreas and Japan.
In the tense weeks preceding North Korea’s missile tests, that bureau lost its Internet connectivity for several days.
China’s government was considered by experts a chief suspect in computer break-ins at the Defense Department and other U.S. agencies disclosed last summer.
The Pentagon warned earlier this year that China’s army is emphasizing hacking as an offensive weapon. It cited Chinese military exercises in 2005 that included hacking “primarily in first strikes against enemy networks.”
Note: These are excerpts from the original article. LINK
“But China also is home to a large number of insecure computers and networks that hackers in other countries could use to disguise their locations and launch attacks.”
Sadly, the United States is so indebted to China that even when they do something extremely provocative, we have to walk on eggs, speak quietly, and carry no stick at all. When you begin adding up all of this information, I believe that North Korea is simply China’s pawn – and as bad as KIM Jong Il is, the real threat lies within the borders of China. Corporate America cares not who they do business with, nor does the Bush administration as long as the money keeps rolling in to the corrupt politicians that are in control of our country.
If you’re wealthy and need an organ transplant, where do you go? China of course, and for the right price, they will find a prisoner, blow out his brains, and the rich get the health care in China that isn’t available in America. Why? Because we don’t believe in murdering prisoners to save someone else’s life no matter how much money they have, but for now, that option is still available in China; And this is a country we call an ally, a country Wal-Mart and other US corporations choose to do business with – all because of greed and a corrupt US government that turns a blind eye on anything that makes the rich richer, even if means the eventual destruction of our country.
Do we have options? Yes, face the problem now and do something while we still can. We can only hope and pray we haven’t passed the point of no return; If that’s the case, then I suggest we all learn to speak Chinese.
Footnote: It is also noteworthy to state that China is also the leader of industrial espionage in the United States. What they can’t buy – they steal, and the practice has been going on for years. Theft of Advanced Technology
This story appears about half-way down the page. What a friend and ally China turns out to be…

Now that’s a Surprise! Kim Jong Il actually apologized for North Korea for conducting nuclear testing?!! He said he didn’t have plans to test anymore. Something just doesn’t sound right about that one.
