Now We Know More About Bush’s October Surprise

The first thing that struck me this morning was a link from Cabaret Apocalypto, and I learned that beginning October the 1st, 2008, the Posse Comitatus Act has been effectively obliterated. The Army is assigning the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team to duty within the continental United States; this unit has spent the last 35 of 60 months patrolling Iraq and are seasoned fighters, not the type of personnel that I prefer to be “helping-out” within the United States. Marine and Army infantry units have been trained to kill, they do it well, and in Iraq they had to adopt a “shoot first”, ask questions later mentality. Old habits can often be hard to break…

Brigade homeland tours start Oct. 1

3rd Infantry’s 1st BCT trains for a new dwell-time mission. Helping ‘people at home’ may become a permanent part of the active Army

Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months, the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.

It is not the first time an active-duty unit has been tapped to help at home. In August 2005, for example, when Hurricane Katrina unleashed hell in Mississippi and Louisiana, several active-duty units were pulled from various posts and mobilized to those areas.

But this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to NorthCom, a joint command established in 2002 to provide command and control for federal homeland defense efforts and coordinate defense support of civil authorities. MUCH MORE

We know that more experienced troops are needed in Afghanistan, so it is peculiar for us to pull-out a seasoned unit for deployment at home. Further down in the Army Times, two more paragraphs leap off the page and we all have to ask ourselves exactly “what” this President is planning for???

They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack.

Training for homeland scenarios has already begun at Fort Stewart and includes specialty tasks such as knowing how to use the “jaws of life” to extract a person from a mangled vehicle; extra medical training for a CBRNE incident; and working with U.S. Forestry Service experts on how to go in with chainsaws and cut and clear trees to clear a road or area.

The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said, referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them.

Based on the above statements, it appears the government is anticipating some extremely serious public outrage and protests – large enough to need the help of the Army and other branches of the military who have been called upon to help in this “mission”. What is the Bush administration preparing itself for, and what action will trigger these protests they anticipate will require military intervention to quell? There’s no question the White House has been planning this for some time, and now that we know the “bailout plan” was drafted while Bush assured the nation our “economy was strong”, the web of deceit and lies is spilling-out and we know that the Bush administration has known this financial “emergency” would materialize – and like the Patriot Act – materialized almost immediately after the 9-11 attacks even though it was a document that obviously took weeks, perhaps even months to prepare.

The Bush administrations response to the financial crisis has been so shrill that today, China’s Banks were ordered to stop lending to American financial institutions:

China banks told to halt lending to US banks-SCMP

Wed Sep 24, 2008 9:52pm EDT

BEIJING, Sept 25 (Reuters) – Chinese regulators have told domestic banks to stop interbank lending to U.S. financial institutions to prevent possible losses during the financial crisis, the South China Morning Post reported on Thursday.

The Hong Kong newspaper cited unidentified industry sources as saying the instruction from the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) applied to interbank lending of all currencies to U.S. banks but not to banks from other countries.

“The decree appears to be Beijing’s first attempt to erect defenses against the deepening U.S. financial meltdown after the mainland’s major lenders reported billions of U.S. dollars in exposure to the credit crisis,” the SCMP said. LINK

Bush is proposing a 700 Billion Dollar Bailout; with China stopping their banks from lending to us, where exactly will this 700 Billion Dollars materialize from? Japan? The EU and Japan combined? Or will we simply print what is quickly becoming worthless money to help and satisfy the wealth and corporations who are now in danger of losing a percentage of their investments, while taxpayers that can’t even afford to fill up their tanks and keep food on the table are being asked to foot the bill. The MSM and even Congressional members are labeling this bailout attempt as socialism, however, if you look up socialism and fascism and look at what constitutes fascism, it’s obvious that our plunge is not into socialism, but directly into the bowels of a fascist government that has been planning this coup since they were installed in office. F**k being politically correct; we have to reveal the truth, as ugly as it may be, and help to prepare those who are still slumbering to the incredible danger that lurks just days, or months away. Something big is being planned, and while I’m not privy to those plans, recent government actions and our economic meltdown should raise the ire and brow of every American – and only massive protests and calls will help to sway a Congress that has folded on us in almost every major issue that Bush has raised before Congress.

Bush took a cheap shot at what’s left of Middle-class America when he attempted to personalize the crisis and used his speech time to instill fear and anxiety into the hearts of those who are teetering on the brink of financial disaster, and it’s millions and millions of middle-class families, which Bush attempted to scare and intimidate, probably hoping they would call Congress in favor of the bailout plan. Congress is fighting back, so now they have to appeal to the people, and they did, once again pushing fear and uncertainty to the forefront and stating that his plan was the only hope we had. Time is short. I need it now. The sky is falling. The same rhetoric that we hear from this President every time he’s making a power grab or attempting to muscle-through more legislation that favors corporate America. It’s always a “national emergency” type of event, and as we saw in previous elections, Al Qaeda conveniently has made a threat against us close to another Presidential Election. It surprises me that an individual that has been able to elude the U.S. since we invaded Afghanistan doesn’t have enough sense to keep quiet and see if America elects a President that is serious about withdrawing from Iraq and adopting a less imperialistic stance rather than being a pawn of fear for the warmongering GOP.

Whatever is coming our way, remember that food is often use a a weapon by fascist governments. Stock up on essentials, Don’t panic buy, but continue adding to your emergency supplies until you feel that you have at least a month in non-perishable food stocks. Very carefully, you may want to invest in extra-large gas storage containers, and just like food, gradually build yourself a supply until you are able to whether a crisis like that which is currently hitting the Atlanta area. (Article to be published later today.)

Whatever it is we are about to suffer through, you can’t count on the government to come to your rescue; there are too many of us, over 300 million, and no country on earth is capable of providing for so many people with so little preparation. Don’t tell your neighbors your stocking-up on food unless you want to be in the position to defend it, possibly with risks that could be life-threatening. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst; it’s an eerie feeling when you know the other shoe is about to drop – especially when we don’t know if it will include the loss of hundreds of thousands, or even millions of American lives. FEMA and DHS have already planned for human remains disposal as if it wasn’t anything more than a normal days work, but for you and I, many of those casualties could be friends and family, something that is only preventable if we as a nation collectively hit the streets and stay there until someone in the government agrees to take a step back and restore our system of checks and balances.

Well, morons, where's all the blood running through the streets? And you…dumb ass, where do you get off referring to our magnificent troops as not the type of personnel you want to be helping citizens? Pussies like you will be the first to run and hide behind a Marine or a soldier when the shit, if any, ever hits the fan.

You know, as much as liberals hated Bush, one has to wonder just how conservative he really was. I think he was being directed by an outside influence and it hasn't stopped with Bush. I'll be willing to bet that by the end of Obama's term we will have some reason to ask our selved, What the &%$# just happened?

I wish I could say I am surprised. Check up on Blackwater too since you’re on a roll.
An absolutely vital piece of survival gear is water filtration : even some of those fancy filter straws for camping are better than nothing.
I’m looking for utilities, power, sewage and fuel to become a big problem really fast. Not necessarily right away, mind.
Are your immunizations up to date ? ( No new or fancy optionals mind, except maybe if there’s one for cholera. )
How much do you really know about what Iraqis – among many others – have been subjected to ? I’m thinking the chickens may be coming home to roost.

While having a unit assigned to Northern Command is new and highly unusual, the fact is that there have always been units assigned to quick reaction forces (QRF) missions across the USA for various reasons. Even before 911, ours and other 10th Mountain companies (Upstate New York – Ft. Drum) had been assigned as QRF for things like the New Years celebration in Times Square. Something they do every year.

I am not certain that it is anything more than a reshuffling of the chain of command but it certainly is worth watching and keeping it in mind. With the corrupt and criminal Bush administration you always have to sleep with one eye open.
