Masters of Compromise – how things get done in DC, but sometimes the public gets shafted

For politicians compromise is often how things get done but sometimes their deals lead to the public getting shafted. This all depends of course on ones perspective on who wins and who loses. Compromising isn’t a bad thing and doesn’t always produce negative outcomes but sometimes in politics it does and a good case in point is the banking deregulation in 1998...

FORD Is a Four Letter Word

FORD is a four Letter Word is yet another example of the globalization strategies among America’s multi-national corporations (MNC) that are making business decisions no longer rooted in country first. As the title indicates the article is about Ford’s global strategies and in April of 2009 I wrote an article about American auto companies Moving jobs south of the Border. I’d like to point out that while we are singling out Ford here their global manufacturing strategy is consistent with most American MNC’s.

Understanding the Foreclosure Mess

If you are learning about this crisis for the first time, understanding what is actually broken here is very important. For those interested in gaining a better understanding of this situation I encourage reviewing a five part series of links that I highlight here that do an excellent job in explaining this crisis on a basic 101 level by giving a brief explanation that includes charts...

The Foreclosure Crisis, No Big Deal Right? Think Again!

By most MSM accounts the foreclosure crisis is nothing more than robo-signing of potentially flawed foreclosure documents without reading them. But as some already realize there is much more to this story and it is far more complex than we are being told. Homeowners can only be foreclosed and evicted from their homes by the person or institution that actually has the loan paper, only the note-holder has legal standing to ask a court to foreclose and evict…

Voting for the lesser of two Evils – Part II

By Mitch Gurney October 16, 2010 In a current political ad in her bid to unseat California Democrat Senator Boxer Republican Carly Fiorina’s political strategists effectively tap into voter anger with both parties: Everybody is hurting, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, your party doesn’t matter anymore. It’s fixing this mess. Boxer’s been there for 28 years and ... Read More »

Voting for the lesser of two Evils – a Loser’s Game

this election season is no different from any of the others and as usual the stakes are high. As our country falls into an avalanche of more spin and deepening financial disaster all our candidates can manage to do is what they have always done; fault the other guy for all that ails us and offer up empty, worthless 30 second sound bites that are supposed to serve as solutions and plans to fix the mess. But we have seen this many times before and yet here we are once again being herded into making choices between the lesser of two evils. Our elections are rigged we know it yet do nothing about it. The article explains it this way:

September 2010 Update And Fundraiser

Do not be satiated by MSM reports that the recession is over. There are several facts that our corrupt news media is not covering in enough detail to the public and are glossed over by the Washington Spin Machine. US homes lost to foreclosure (are) up 25 pct on year, and that indicates that the housing crisis is far from over. As it pertains to our economy, there is another crisis which is brewing that could far out-shadow the housing crisis in its impact on our fragile economy. Wherever you live, take the time to get in your car and visit your local Malls and drive by the thousands of Strip-Malls that dot our cityscape. Please take note of the huge amount of vacancies that you see in these areas; businesses are closing and downsizing across America, and there is another real estate crash that is developing but is not being reported by the MSM. Business properties are being abandoned by the thousands. It won't be long until another rush of foreclosures impacts our banks and lending institutions, and the collective worth of those properties could dwarf the impact of our housing crisis.

Have America’s Business and Political Leaders cooked our Goose?

By Mitch Gurney September 23, 2010 One problem with the U.S government running huge fiscal deficits each year is someone has to finance and hold that debt. Every dollar tied up financing government debt is resources not available to other sectors of the economy. Investment advisor John Mauldin compiled an in-depth analysis of this situation ...
